Dream Poem by Ann Mckeeman

Dream

i would lie down in the fragrant green of an early summer field

finding your hand

(like two pieces of some long ago puzzle, meant to fit just so...)

under the midnight tapestry of constellations

lulled into somnolence by the orchestration of crickets and frogs

nose filled with rich earth smells and the heady perfume of lilacs

without a fear...or a regret....

and

...i would dream a lifetime in one single night...
