Draw Me Poem by Dean Meredith

Draw Me

Draw me pretty she said
Draw me how I'd like to be
Part woman, part girl
With a glint in my eye
With a knowing look
And a body to die for
Draw me good and bad
Draw me in and out
Run your crayon fingers
Down the contours of my back
Take your long thin brushes
And whisper a few of my secrets
Lay me with a feather pillow
On your taut canvas bed
Colour me vanilla pink
And shade me with your hue
Be kind but not too kind
I want some of my faults to come through
Let your firm strokes capture me
So I can show my struggles
Keep me as your prisoner
Never to be released
But always slowly escaping
Show my beauty and my darkness
Hint at my many doubts
And carefully touch upon my pain
Caress my imperfect image
Soften and blur my harder lines
Let me shine and show my mystery
For certain hearts to see
Draw me out of love
And draw me into me
