Downpour Poem by Alyssa Rieper

Downpour

Rating: 4.5

He slams the door on his dad
Left alone and terribly mad
He grabs a pen with plain black ink
He takes a notebook of fresh clean sheets
The strings he strums are out of tune
Telling a song to the eerie moon
He sings a life of anger and hate
And thinks of death coming too late
Scribbled writing composes a song
Plays guitar and screams words along
Bowing his head, ending in time
The guitar obeying its master's mind
The next week, he puts down a rose
To one of the stones in the uneven rows
He starts to cry, the rain downpours
He prays forgiveness for slamming the door
