Double Helix Poem by Indigo Hawkins

Double Helix

Rating: 5.0

adenine:
crushed diatoms, sea salt, juniper, driftwood,
sunburn, windburn, rap and indie rock, clean snow,
may beetle, cinnamon, cloves, gingerbread, campfire crackles,
jazz piano, drums, purine, alga, caustic turtle, acid wash.

thymine:
clay cardinal, butterscotch, rhododendron, boulders,
raspberries, lime, aloe vera, hibiscus and magnolia,
psychedelic wasp, grass stains, ink, oil pastels, mandolin,
punk, pyramidine, jasmine, cryptic llama, turpentine.

we are the same.
we are different.
either way, we bond.
