Dont Leaf Me Hangin Poem by Vonnie Postit

Dont Leaf Me Hangin

strong wooden goddess,
this is my love letter to you
fat, far blowing,
dearest tree
tell me a story
tell me of the day
the sea was green
strong bones seeping
into the ground
i ask you to draw me
harmony
you draw wooden,
happenings
this is what it is to be living!
shift scream I
I hear you laugh
this is what it is to be loving!
mother tree I feel you
you
you hear me
I am never ignored
what a shame
the ground labels me
homebound
when feet, freedom
hanging,
how would anyone ever
find you death worthy
hanging
never held so much life
before it.
