Don'T You Know! (2009) Poem by Lillian B. Rose

Don'T You Know! (2009)

I could scream from the mountian top
We are not the gay ones
But the truth is before we entwined
Our hearts in a love knot
We had agreed to people who had
more in common with our
perscribed gender
than I would care to admit openly
Knowing little you gave me a nickname
as I gave you my trust
then as my maybe asked you
to convince me further
you surrendered your heart to mine
so in the end I scream
We're not the gay ones
and few seem to listen
