Don’t Want To Fall In Love Again Poem by Alfred Ramos

Don’t Want To Fall In Love Again

Rating: 5.0

Wet sand squishes between my toes
As I sit on this quiet beach on a winter morn
My stomach is squeamish more than anybody knows
Tears hit the ground like a raging storm

The foam of an ebb tide caresses my feet
Smoke gray clouds wave to me as they pass by
Seagulls hover as if I had something for them to eat
Or maybe they sense my turmoil and want to share a cry

I don’t ever want to fall in love again
Don’t want my heart ripped to pieces
I gave all I have to the very end
No matter the reasons the pain never ceases

A cold wind chills me to the bone
One lone morning star still shines
Why I have to spend this time alone
Tells me I couldn’t read between the lines

The waves, they roar with discontent
As if agreeing with the downside of my fate
In my heart I know I gave 100 per cent
Now I know the cost of losing my soul mate

I don’t ever want to fall in love again
From the fall I’ve taken I cannot rise
Though I get down on my knees every now and then
I hear the ocean calling and I’m not good at goodbyes

Ahh the ache of love lost... beautifully melancholic poetry.
