Don'T Take The Bait Poem by Bobby Pask

Don'T Take The Bait

He’s a cheapskate
You will be miss led
He just wants a date
To have misread

If you don’t trust me
Answer me this question
Do ye
Have determination

If you have some
And you’re not scared
Then come
To see how he has faired

If he seems bad
Then I was right
And you should be glad
I’ll make you something nice and light

If you still won’t believe
Don’t ask me to help impress
And he will achieve
For himself greatness

If you work hard
He will smirk
He will use you to bard
For a dirk

I am a friend
Not a foe
I am trying to defend
Not deal a blow

If I don’t stop you
He will win
What he wants to be cool
And he’ll just grin

At first you’ll be fine
I won’t talk
He’ll give you wine
And he will stalk

I just don’t want you hurt
Because I care
If you’re hurt I’ll feel like dirt
Because you are fair
