Don'T Take It For Granted Poem by Young Lion

Don'T Take It For Granted

Today...today was a good day,
Not too many people get to see today,
People who don't ask for it get washed away,
By this thing we call life that can be a massive tidal wave.

To hear people sit and complain,
About how they didn't want to wake up today,
Those words send sparks through my brain,
And I say 'Are you inhaling cocaine? '

There are people out there who would love to be in your seat,
People out there who are sleeping in the streets,
People out there who can't stand on their feet,
Children out there crying about having nothing to eat.

I loss someone who was like a mother to me,
My respect for her was as high as can be,
Not being able to see her is awful, terrible, it makes me want to scream!
She is one of the few whom I love more than anything.

I'm not trying to preach don't get me wrong,
There are those days that aren't full of elation,
But like any other day you learn to appreciate,
That you got to live another day and that's what I see is great.
