Don'T Lie Poem by Lisa Webster

Don'T Lie

if you could see inside of me
i bet you'd try to lie to me
to tell me that it's not so bad
that there's no reason to be sad
but lies are not so comforting
when reality hangs over me
you fail to see
the consequence
the loss of time at my expense
the wasted years, the sleepless nights
bouts of emotion I try to fight
you'll never see, you'll never know
til it's too late and i've let go -

don't smile at me
don't turn away
listen to me, hear what I say
i dare you to ignore me now
i dare you to ignore me now
