Don'T Leave Your Home Poem by Liam Hughes

Don'T Leave Your Home

Rating: 5.0

There is no home upon that battle field
You from your home they will steal
There is no love in the weapons they weild
There is no truth in the lies They reveal

I beg of you to look upon this great isle
And see it as where you truly belong
I beg of you to look upon their words as vile
And to see my words as your home's own song

We could be brothers if you'd only unite
And see me as a friend in this our place
Turn away from those who insist it's your fight
Instead of their hate there's our loving embrace

. We could be brothers if you'd only unite And see me as a friend in this our place Turn away from those who insist it's your fight Instead of their hate there's our loving embrace - - a great theme so actual in the present context of the world. thank you for all these insights and the call for greatness..in soul.

Hi Liam, I am now ready to start reading your works of art. Verbal paintings that is. I have read Don't Leave Your Home. and I find it a wonderful poem, though somewhat wishful thinking. But, the poem itself is perfect in it construction and rhyme. I much prefer metered poems with rhyme as I am old fashioned. They say poems of meter and rhyme are dead but, I refuse to give up even though I have written some in Free Verse and Blank Verse. Your poems are wonderful to read as they do have deep significance and, I love that. I have read some that go on and on and have no evidence of anything but, words that do not mean anything. Only the author knows what has been said. I give you several examples: Miirabai, Hart Crane, Ginsburg, Wilke and others. You write beautifully and with understanding by the reader. Thaks, Lynn

There is no place in a modern civilized world for hate and cruel acts. The world requires empathy, mutual love and friendship and find solutions through dialogues, debates, and opinions that too for peaceful co existence. A n appeal for peace is highly praiseworthy.

I hope that your message of love, peace and unity is heeded, Liam. If people would only open their eyes and think for themselves instead of being led radically astray, peace would eventually be the norm
