Don'T Ever Go To The Zoo Poem by Pradip Chattopadhyay

Don'T Ever Go To The Zoo

Whole day their wings ache for the sky
Their eyes thirst the moribund blue
But here they are and will be till they die
Without ever knowing why.
The black striped beauty in velvet brown
Paces restless in utter distress
A majestic beast robbed of its crown
Wallows in its caged recess.
So I say friend if you need sunshine for your gloom
For your sore eyes an open blue
Imagine them all from the confine of your room
But don’t ever go to the zoo.
