$ Dollar Debate $

It is a common saying,
That happiness is one thing
Which money cannot buy.

Although this be widespread knowlege,
This philosophy,
I must deny.

Why?

Because money does
Buy happiness,
For a fleeting while.

What is achieved is
A momentary excitement
And gleefulness -

Perhaps even a fading smile.

However, my freind -
This does not last.

Your happy pleasure
Rushes to an end -
And Alas!

Soon it be
In your past.

If, my friend,
Happiness is what you seek,
You shall have to keep
Running-
Chasing-
Grasping it
Again,
And Again!

You see,
Money can buy possessions,
And even the happiness
Of momentary pleasures.

However,
One thing still remains
Which money
Cannot -
Will not -
And shall NEVER buy -

Is something which
Only God can give:

The gift of eternal joy.

And so,
Dear freind -
You must decide!

What will it be?

Is it a glimps
Of happiness
Which you seek,

Or is it God's
Everlasting gift of joy?

To help you answer,
I will tell,
Which of these choices
I favor above all else -

I choose to continually go to God
To exchange,

My sorrows -

My sickness -

My worrries -

My cares -

My strife;

And exchange them
For God's permanent joy,
And His guiding hand
To hold my life.
