Doleful Poem by Rachel Butler

Doleful

(Dedicated to the unknown gardener)

My adoration was unreciprocated,
love's enduring wail.
He singularly is the crux of my lacerated heart.

Subsequent to hearing his beguiling words his charming face, troubled my anima, I have known no peace since.
Let me depart Oh! anima let my declining body be solo recumbent.

No mercy or beneplacit for me,
I never knew the happiness to be woo'd by him.
Parted by oceans was our fate, for him, vexatious tears fell.

You've captured longing in this poem so perfectly Rachel. But then, all of your poems reign supreme. Your friend and fan, S.

The sentiments remind me of my own piece, Raven and the Fox, reprise without the allegory.

Rachel, A sad and seemingly peronal poem of unrequited love.
