Doing What We Love Poem by Elena Sandu

Doing What We Love

Rating: 4.8

The things we love and learn about
With us will stay till we depart
Our best friend,
gives a helpful hand
to proudly stand
in joy or sorrow..
They always have a say
in who we really are
help us to clearly see
and follow
much easily
through yesterday,
today,
tomorrow.

A lovely lady, taught me
these words during a bus ride:
'yorokobi ni tsuke
kanashimi ni tsuke
jibun o tsukutte kureru'
-in joy and sorrow self takes form
Thank you

A lovely man affected my life more than he could have foretold. As an Engineer on a major contract one day I was raging because of a sequence of avoidable problems and had just thrown my helmet against the window of the 24 tonne excavator to let the driver know he had pee*d me off and I was beyond miffed. The foreman asked Martin, will you laugh about this in a year or two? Probably. I replied Why wait? he asked. 'Nuff said. Good poem, thank you for being better than most I read here.
