Does This World Have You Poem by Katherine Perry

Does This World Have You

Rating: 4.0

A name on the door
The emblem on a car
No dirt on the floor
A life behind bars

Designer tags on clothes
The perfect color for your hair
A diamond stud on your nose
No more worries to bare

The size of a stone
The cost of a house
No time spent alone
More time going out

A family always seen traveling from
here to there
'I love yous' aren't what they mean
A hug without care

Where are we heading
To what have we left behind
Who are our children
Have we lost our minds

A child without guidance
A school without purpose
A voice within silence
Existing to feel worthless

You're given a life and a world too
But the real question is...
Do you have the world
Or does the world have you?

A very thought awakening poem. Well written. We are being owned by the world instead of owning it. Do have a look at my poems please
