Do You Love Me? Poem by Hannah Torres

Do You Love Me?

Do you love me?
Do you even love me?
You tell me that you love me all the time.
You cry out to me cause you need me.
You can live without me.
But you turn around and need the blunt a little more.
You turn around and need a little more loving.
But you still love me or at least that's what you say.
You take my word and use if for your own convenience.
You say that I hate those I've made.
But you still love me.
You still love me enough to show up to church on Sundays.
To read your bible.
To do all these things so that in your mind you will not go to hell.
You think that you are protecting yourself from the evil that is around you.
But you still love me.
You love me when you only trust yourself.
You love me when you fail a test and blame it on me.
You love me in everything
But do you really?
Do you really love me?
Were you the one stretched out to show my love for you?
Were you the one whipped and beaten?
Were you the one who died for everyone?
I was that one. I was the one who loved you then and will always love you.
But I don't need you to tell me you love me if you.
I don't need your works.
I don't need your lies.
I just need you.
Even if you don't give me that much.
Even if you never come to love me.
I will always and I mean always love you no matter what.
