Do You Know What I Am? Poem by Ronald Chapman

Do You Know What I Am?

I am puffy gray and white,
I wonder where I can rain today,
I hear the wind blowing,
I see the earth below moving fast,
I do not want to disappear,
I am puffy gray and white.

I pretend to be a heap of cotton balls,
I feel full with water,
I touch the blue sky,
I worry that I may only drizzle,
I cry thunderous booms,
I am puffy gray and white.

I understand I will disappear soon,
I say, 'Watch out below. Here comes my load.'
I dream of giving the gift of snow down below,
I try not to rain so hard on people below,
I hope I hope I don't cause a flood,
I am puffy gray and white.
