Do Not Spare Me Poem by Toby

Do Not Spare Me

Rating: 3.5

Do not spare me from pain, so that I may become stronger.
Do not spare me from loneliness, so that I may be independent.
Do not spare me from sadness, so that I may appreciate happiness.
Do not spare me from harsh words, so that I may learn to speak kindly.
Do not spare me from thoughts of suicide, so that I may find reasons for living.
Do not spare me from desperation, so that I may find strong places of refuge.
Do not spare me from anger, so that I may learn to love.
Do not spare me from empty dreams, so that I may have a place to hide.
Do not spare me from responsibility, so that I may learn to bear it.
Do not spare me from tears, so that I may find it easy to help others who cry.
Do not spare me from angry people, so that I may learn not to be angry.
Do not spare me from demanding people, so that I may be less demanding.
Do not spare me from difficult people, so that I may see the difficult person in me.
Do not spare me from ugliness, so that I may see beauty.
Do not spare me from poverty, so that I may treasure what I have.
Do not spare me from evil, so that I may learn what good is.
Do not spare me from prison, so that I may enjoy freedom when I find it.
Do not spare me from impermanence, so that I may appreciate what I have.
Do not spare me from injustice, so that I may know what injustice is.
Do not spare me from life’s difficulties, so that I may learn from them.
