Do Not Promise Me The Stars And The Moon Poem by Suki Nakamura

Do Not Promise Me The Stars And The Moon

do not promise me the stars and the moon
for what they have is light, and i have seen light
everyday from the sun,
do not tempt me to see some other things
that i have not seen
or the impossible
or the intangible like your dreams, your visions,
and ambitions,
like a violet car, vanilla skies, chocolate castles,
tangerine clouds, a diamond mountain,
a golden hill, a river of money,
you're funny, offering all these
improbabilities
just for me to love you,
please don't: .................................................my love is
as defined by all those who passed away
graduating from pain: ..............................................blind.
