Do Not Cry Poem by Moto Wamwanga

When I would start my endless journey,
To go where your goods and money
Would not be needed any longer, honey
And undecaying joy would water my steps

I believe and keep my faith on this; I beseech
You all not to get saddened. This is my speech.
That day should be a celebration day.
It should joyfully be the moment to pray,
I would be gone where life is endless,
Where there will not be pain, cry and sadness.

When I would be gone my beloved brothers
And sisters I pray you all not to provide
Your money for my corps. That's my pride,
Because the best moment to assist someone
Is when they're still alive not when they're gone.

Alive, no one cares about me. No one can
Assist me. No one can say anything good
About me. People would rather put food
In the bin, oh travelling can show things, than

Give it to me who's seriously dying with anger.
They can only testify my goodness
When I just am gone and sing my kindness
If only, oh perverse world, I am not longer.

When I would not longer be here,
I would rather like my body to be burnt down,
If I don't leave enough to berry it, or thrown
Away than people to contribute, you hear
Me, for my obsequy. I would be gone, forgotten.
