Do I Or Don't I? Poem by keith brown

Do I Or Don't I?

Do I or don't I

Nice to hear your voice today, while rules still say just stay away
Close the door isolate, Coved19 contemplate, changes
that become the norm, to which society must conform
A virus flattening curve helps save, the lives of those who brave
The risk our needs to serve
Our greatest respect they deserve.
The roadmaps show our way out, there will be casualties, have no doubt
From a virus that remains unseen the given name, coved 19

So! do I stay safe inside? or venture out? denied!
a meeting within embrace, to tap an ankle or elbow brush
Where I can look but cannot touch, yet!
I cannot let my fear contain, and make me in this house remain
My courage I must muster, too face this new world order, then
Take a giant stride, across my household border.
Into a world yet unseen seen, Damn you Covid 19
