Diwali And Poor Child Poem by Md. Asadullah

Diwali And Poor Child

Rating: 5.0

It is victory of light over darkness.
But his eyes filled with bleakness.
It is victory of hope over despair.
But a poor child with no one to care.

Jam packed are shops of sweets.
But pitiful child has got nothing to eat.
Crackers stealthily they all buy.
His stomach is empty, lips are dry.

Bursting firecrackers, light and sound.
Hapless child quietly sitting on ground.
To burn people have enough buck.
But not enough for burning stomach.

To burn people have enough buck. But not enough for burning stomach. You have beautifully brought out the gulf between the rich and the poor! On one side, people are wild with celebrations, on the other side, many are mad with hunger! When we burn bucks on crackers, we fail to see the burning hunger of empty stomachs! Very powerful write!

Light will be victorious over darkness while people will care for poor children where humanity will shine a lot. Nice poem on Diwali and poverty realization. People spend much more money for burning crackers but do not show interest to feed a meal at least to a poor child with love who suffers in hunger. Its the matter of sad. Well written everything.
