Diverge Poem by Cory Fox

Diverge

They tell me that they care
But I know what lies beneath
Once they see my nightmare
They're lying through their teeth

But you were always there
As wrong as I behaved
A true friend unaware
Of the life that you saved

Through all hardships we share
I fear what's coming nigh
One burden left to bear-
The sorrows of goodbye

So early, so unfair
With so much left to say
My last hope and prayer
To see you again someday
