Distraction Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Distraction

Rating: 5.0

You canna sleep upon my verse,
For if you do, it may get worse,
Be my friend, with tenderness, love and more,
And become the one I'll adore.
Be good and true and let's have fun,
To wile away the hours humdrum,
For many of those there are in a day,
And its time that we did get some play.

This spur of the moment rhyme for you,
Has taken my mind to a different view,
From that of my computer in front of me,
With hours more work yet to be.

So take the time and phone me now,
A distraction short can be a wow,
To distract my mind and make it fresh,
To continue onwards with a new breath.

So finally my task be done,
And the end of the tunnel will be won,
And I can finally leave this place of work,
As the tasks I've set, I'll not shirk.
