Distorted Love Poem by Ashley Ormon

Distorted Love

Rating: 5.0

How distorted is the meaning of love
Of men and woman today?
In all believing that sex is love
And can be easily thrown away.
Hookups and breakups,
One-night stands,
Where is the pure love,
Between woman and man?
It’s all about “playing the game”,
And where’s the love in that?
I tell you this “new love” of theirs,
Is so dull and flat-
Distorted love I call it,
Lacking the true affection that’s kind,
Maybe true love has been forgotten,
And someone needs to remind,
That this “new love”, “distorted love”
Needs to be left behind.

You echo sentiments of what runs in the minds of many regarding this word and depth called 'love'. Excellent in your depreciation and accord, keep writing. arya

Orman, u r right.Love is something that speaks from heart n not from gut. The carnal appetite can't replace it. your statement is straight n right from ur heart.Wel done. Carry on...

That was a really nice poem. I feel the same way about what people call 'love' these days. Keep these poems coming.
