Disposable Veterans Poem by Ima Ryma

Disposable Veterans

The veterans of wars and such,
Who fought for freedom against foes.
The veterans sacrificed much,
Wiping government's bloody nose.
But like Kleenex, once they are used,
Politicians and bureaucrats
Treat veterans sorely abused,
Tossing them away in waste vats.
And veterans rarely complain
About self serving government.
Veterans know all about pain.
Was all that pain worth being spent.

The veterans served Uncle Sam,
Who really does not give a damn.
