Disgustingly Perky Poem by Elena Plotkin

Disgustingly Perky

It never fails, just as your future becomes murky,
You run into someone who is disgustingly perky.
An individual who believes that wishes do come true,
and that prince charming is out there waiting for you.
An individual who believes in the power of new age medicine,
and treats every tragic disaster as a temporary impediment.
An individual who follows horoscopes and eats tofurkey,
who thinks most people are just misunderstood and quirky.
An individual who sees the world through rose colored glasses,
and is always accepted and popular by the general masses.
An individual who is obviously clueless and out of touch,
And yet happier and fulfilled thrice if not twice as much.
An individual who if ever had a depression, it would never last,
because they would never allow themselves to dwell on the past.
In short, an individual who is so disgustingly perky,
that you forget that your own future has become murky.

Maybe twice if not trice/thrice? ? Give yourself enough time and you SHALL remember! ! ! (Your murky destiny) And the perky one will keep taking drugs to stay on an 'even keel'. Liked the rhyming and the general thrust of the narrative! ! To MyPoemList. Bri :)
