Disguise 04 Poem by Kira Bloom

Disguise 04

Sitting alone by a stream
I heard a movement and appeased my curiosity
I saw the world flowing
Until the clouds lifted and
The object of my quest astounded me
A creature I thought
Until the moon corrected me
A beautiful mystery strolled before me
Eloquent and calm with features striking
So graceful her movements they surprised me
She could not belong to this time
I have lingered, watching creatures roam earth and sky
But she is different
She belongs to the light
Belongs to beauty with wings in angel’s lovely sighs
This world is dark
This world is mine
Meant for hatred and the hunt
The brutal secrets of love
Lies never dared to be found
Desire above and below in a lost sound
Still she seems belonged like she’s walked these paths all her life
I did not understand until I saw her eyes
Paralyzed the only word to describe
The feeling of truth of all her glorious flaws
In her features she is a beauty of daylight
But in her soul she is like me and mine
Betrayed torn and defiant the perfect predator
Hate pain and love behind a woman’s demise
Was she always mine?
No she was broken heart and pride
Night the only safe place to hide
But even here she will be envied by lingering eyes
She belongs to neither day nor night
Simply the sky
This broken angel in a woman’s disguise
