Disease Poem by Heather Browning

Disease

All I ever needed was your love. A simple emotion i find so hard to feel. All I needed was the truth. A truth so many never hear. And I watched the sun set in your eyes, I watched as all those lies crept through your veins like a disease. Slowly, as your hand slipped from mine I watched all our dreams ignite up into flames. The death of all our dreams. A disease much like the one we call incurable. A disease who takes the lives of many innocence. I watched as that disease took control of your heart. That awful mess of lies you still call a heart. Your disease destroyed me, and baby your disease will surely destroy you.
