Discomfiture With Discombobulate Poem by Margaret Alice

Discomfiture With Discombobulate

It added to my discomfiture when
I found the word discombobulate
this morning – how disconcerting
that such a word should be used
to confuse the reader, the only way
to deal with this occurrence is to
use the word to describe a world
gone mad - where Zimbabwe falls
to pieces, people decimated by
cholera, the Kongo erupting in
sporadic violence, while politicians
twiddle their fingers and whistle a
happy song, probably hoping Peter
Pan from Neverland will come along
to solve the world’s political problems…
