Discerning A Void Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Discerning A Void

discerning a void
shove the bat
into the cabinet
enclose the walls
with a giant wrapper
beat at it
with a catapult
handled
by an army
of blue-coated
sailors and soldiers
where’s my chocolate
I want my throat
to ache
it’s bad for me
but it makes me jolly
I don’t care
where is it?
I demand to know
fervently stomping
constantly coughing
my mind won’t stop
hiccuping
just open
your eyes already
