Disapproved Mistakes (2009) Poem by Lillian B. Rose

Disapproved Mistakes (2009)

a path against legality
bad choice along the way
Unexpected flash
As curiousity fed the fire
Coursing through your mind
For the pipe between your fingers
Is the question they all ask
A hero shot down in flames
Considering a controlled substance
At a party of his peers
Who claimed it was
No big deal
Until the media ran the story
And the police began to ask
Questions of the others
Who participated that night
Placing the sole blame
Upon your shoulders
To save themselves
From punishment
Disapproval ringing loud
Disappointments running high
As you give up the battle
With no other recourse
To fight injustice
For the decision
You made in a group
As the camera's shutter clicked
