Dimensional Distortion Poem by Eric Paeplow

Dimensional Distortion

As the light of day bends over me, around me
My lonesome shadow, ever present, walks before me
And as the sun shines on my face
It reminds me of my place
Right here, at the center of it all
And while the light of day exposes my plight
Revealing the darkness that surrounds me, to your sight
There for all to see, as it leads or follows me, in the light
Until the light of day at last, gives way to night
Where I am free to hide, beneath the starlit skies
And stand before you, half exposed, half disguised
Leaving the only visible piece you see
The reflection of my form and face of me
But no longer, the darkness exposed in the light
It now lies hidden from your sight
And goes unnoticed by your prying eyes
Leaving you exposed, to that which you cannot see
The devil inside, darker side of me
Standing here before you, in the dark of night
Cleverly disguised, whilst hiding in plain sight
By using subtle diversions and dimensional distortion
All to conceal my guise
Leaving you helpless,
To the whims of my darker side...
