Dilber Poem by Hugh Mitchell

Dilber

Waiting by the Bosphorus
for my daily bus
I saw the sun rise over Asia
watched the waves
where two dolphins
rose like slow statues
heading north
toward the Black Sea
silently.

On the bus
I saw your smile
warm as the sunrise over Asia;
felt your spirit
deep and strong
like the Bosphorus;
heard your laughter like dolphins
bringing happiness
your every morning gift.
