Difficult To Assess Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

It is difficult to assess
The man behind the face
And successfully trace
The true reason for happiness

Love for country is well known
Anybody would love to die for nation
With belief and as sacred duty
Almost as holy as prayers to almighty

But what happens when leadership fails
To deliver what is supposed to be availed
Show to people that nation is safe and secured
The boundary is fully protected and its integrity assured

No one would love to burn fingers
But suppose question arises on borders
Terrorists cross it without any fear
The burden may have to be borne with tears

No ordinary citizens will come forward
And offer solution to look forward
Peace is dear to all and remains in mind
No peace is disturbed and acts of any kind

But unfortunately today it does not exist
No individual may come forward and insist
Stand against injustice or raise banner
As it is likely to jeopardize his inner core

So peace remains as an illusion
Peace or war may be imposed with lack of vision
There may remain all the time confusion
The peace may be shrouded with question
