Different Laughs

At the art gallery,
2-legged and one-legged
had different laughs
for 'Little Stairway'
aka 'Fu Fu' meaning 'Monster'*.

Both understood why
so it was called,
but one
was the only one,
2
couldn't join one
laughing wry.

* 2 of anything's a monster.
'Fu Fu' is 'monster'.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
after sister sent photo of a sign in Japan with a repeated character and Fu Fu underneath it.

If not 'Laughter' itself, 'Fu Fu' is 'something to laugh at'. Is that not a monster?
