Died For Love Poem by Nirupa Narine

Died For Love

She put him out like the simple blow of a candle,
Like she didnt care at all,
Broke his heart and simply said ' Only interested in the game'
For her she just thought...well...one more added to the pile of broken glasses.
But for him....it was never like that,
He loved her purely with his whole heart,
Would even sell his soul to the devil for her.
So it would be understandable why his picture is in the newspaper under the captions
'Died for love'

But what would never be understanable is why she was crying...?
Didnt she say she was only interested in the game?
Well that was what she SAID,
Not what she FELT.
Maybe she THOUGHT that by playing brave,
And letting everyone go just because she was afraid of holding on,
Just because she held on for dear life,
For the very first time she fell in love.

We told her she would find that special one but would be too late,
Cuz he would already be among the broken glasses...
Only now she had to come to this to realise that.
She was so mad with herself....
Hurting all the time but felt that it was never enough...
Not enough to measure up to his love...
So NOW it is understandable when you see her picture,
In the newspaper, under the captions
'Died for love also'
