Die With You

Run up to you
hold you close to me
say, 'I love you'
against your warmth
against your heart
let me die with you.

Last second of my life
all the strength that's kept me alive
just to hold you for a second of time
and say, 'I love you.'

I don't have to worry about getting hurt
or disappointed
or heart-broken
because I love you
and because I hate this world
let me die with you.

Throw my arms around you
look up into your gentle eyes
'I love you, ' forever and all of time
but I can't take this life

so let me die with you, baby
let me die with you.

Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
