Did I Say? Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Did I say put down my pen?
No more Poems I’ll write.
Why do I do it, again and again?
I know it is not right.

To put more words on paper and ‘net,
In verses short and long,
Will they rhyme and scan
Or be the basis for my ‘Swan Song’?

Why do I think in rhyme at night?
After One a.m. that is.
Because my Brain is working strong,
And words form in my head.

I wasn’t going to write more poems,
I wished to rest my Mind.
But no control have I this time,
As HE gives me one more line.

And then another forms on my pad,
As line by line it goes.
Until another verse is wrote,
In Poetry not Prose.
