Diary Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Diary

We have escaped the empty hour
Where chatter tries to resemble life
Serenade the execution
Blinded soul sits in judgment
Vacant hour where silence has fled
Conscience the bedrock of law
They dress like children of war
The victors of the dark beneath
Resistance with flowers and long walks
Galleries of the masters
Poems laugh in the serene wind
Slowly leave the world
Leave the agenda
Prayer and meditation are powerful

Spring shines upon me
The world is a blessed lover
Sleep goes deep into eternity
Those that depart meet at tunnels
Have you been there?
Van Gogh loved the spring
The gentle that are lonely love gardens
Poetry brings me the spring

Time to die
We bury our parents and are never the same
One spouse usually goes before another
We mourn- we grieve
We learn how precious love is
We need friends we can turn too
But we mostly cry alone
Encourage others because soon they will know
Love and tragedy are linked
Many in their pride today will fall hard
No one is exempt
We are always at the edge

Art is cathartic
Beautiful words live on
Paintings that touch beauty
Meaning will always be exciting to the true
Ansel Adams loved Yosemite
He photographed it extensively
He talked to President Roosevelt about saving it
His talk did nothing compared to his photos
Art moves people
Victor Hugo wrote The Hunchback of Notre Dam
Part of the reason was to save that historic church
Art preserves, memorializes

Forgiveness and peace go hand in hand
We all are corrupt and make many mistakes
Peace of mind is one free of hate and strife
I don't want to die bitter
I want forgiveness that means I need to give it
The Bible equates gossip with murder
We are not to judge one another and play God
Sweetness of spirit is such a treasure
Gentleness and tenderness, compassion
Self-righteousness is a heavy load
Full of envy, jealousy and slander
I want my dreams full of peace
If you read this and I offended you
Please forgive me
I know I can be a real case sometimes
If you have something against your neighbor
Make it right!
Your point may be right but your attitude wrong
Humilty and forgiveness walk hand in hand
He that is without sin let him cast the first stone

We are always at the edge
Let your tears flow like a spring storm
Let your laughter flow like a great river
May your song rise on great eagle wings
Everyday is a diary
