Devotion Poem by Darrell A. Roberts

Devotion

Rating: 5.0

Devotion

Doing with Love not lust for The Divine,
Every thought trained to on pure Love,
Valiantly taking the lead in the line,
Offering sweet service for God above.

Taking the time to chant the Holy Name,
Increasing the Love for God and The fame,
Openly singing for God with no shame,
Not living life as if in a great game.

Devoted devotees are like pure gold,
Each one shining bright for the Supreme being,
Very compassionate they are not cold,
Often they travel just sightseeing.

Taking the time to remember The Life,
In the heart being humble through this strife,
On this planet their numbers are not rife,
Not many humans give up the nightlife.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
When a person is committed and devoted to a particular idea and activity they are bound to be successful, most of the time. I wrote this poem to remind myself that devotion means to really focus with sincerity in order to achieve the desired result and that is fantastic poetry.
In 2014, I made a vow to myself to be more committed to my poetry and share more so that I could grow as a poet and inspire others to follow their dreams and desires and never to quit.
