Devil Poem by Nkwain Stephen

Devil

Rating: 5.0

A wicket creature dispatched from hell
To harm and do evil which no tongue can tell
He maims the young, he maims the old.
To him man's souls is sold
He fills man's mind from bottom to brim
With his vices vying that man be like him
With all vim, vigor and untold might
He will waste not a second but fight
To see man following his ways
He aims that no man sees joy's rays.
From man's wings he pluck out all feathers
Putting man in manacles, in shackles, and in fetters
Beware brother humans
Lest you are his fans
Brother humans I blame him not but I pity only us
For neither here nor there carries he our cross
The devil is evil
And evil is the devil
To him do not bow
But denounce him now
For if you bow, you bellow
And if you bellow he is hero
No one is like
him, not even Nero
Brother humans, he might have in you installed a vice
Check, uninstall the vice lest you pay the price
To be free from his snares always,
Always examine your ways.
