Deterrents On Crime Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

Deterrents On Crime

Rating: 5.0

A tiger is capable of attacking.
You do not doubt about its intention.
If you encounter, you are sure finished.
That certainty stands as a deterrent.

The stringent law is not a deterrent.
Certainty of punishment only is.
Presumptive fear acts as a deterrent.
Law must not look like a barking dog.

You have put across the problem of tiger poaching in the right perspective. I agree with your assertion- Law must not look like a barking dog. Thanks for sharing.
