Detachment Poem by Tiffany Rose Moczydlowski

Detachment

The ability
To comfort
Others
Is lost
Within me.
No longer do
The proper
Soothing words
Come.
No longer do
I understand
The need to
Come to terms
With
Or dispel
Pain.
In myself,
It simply
Lives.
Feeds.
I accept it.
No reasons
Are wanted.
I just don't
Care anymore.
If I can't
Understand
Peoples' suffering
From pain,
I can't assist,
Which I normally
Can flawlessly do and
Enjoy.
The only
Enjoyment
I have now
Is
Agony.

We can sometimes alienate ourselves from others. In the process we can't seem to comfort, confide or associate with anybody. It may be okay for a short period of time but in the end we won't survive. No man is an island all by themselves. Thanks for sharing this.
