Destined To Solitude Poem by Ming Guo

Destined To Solitude

Destined to solitude
The lone figure walks the Earth.
Doomed to loneliness
He tarries onward.

The lone wanderer
Forever forced to isolation.
Was this by fate
Or was this by choice?

I tell you now, that vagabond was I.
I traversed the pits of hell
I walked the plains of desolation
I shunned the world away from my heart.

I do not blame destiny nor fate nor God
I blame only myself for my own destruction.
Hurt by love I walked away from my life
Walked away from all that I could have been.

Refusing to go back, refusing to go back to bliss
I punished myself for my folly
Cast myself into eternal pain
Carrying the burden of my past and my shame.

Unable to die
Unable to end the misery
I walk across the valley of despair
Forever destined to solitude.
