Desire Poem by Sutapa Chaudhuri

Desire

Ephemeral dialectics
of desire
course through
the body silent
swift, sure
currents roam
lighting up hidden crevices
the long forgotten
stirrings deep down
float slowly
like a soft gush of warmth
seeping in
thawing the ice
gradually
warming the heart to the core
in a swift lightening flash
lives fall apart
centre cannot hold.
