Desert Poem by Liilia Talts Morrison

Desert

Desert
dry as a bone
New Mexico summer
old adobe mission standing
crumbling walls and rusty bell bake in sun
none to see and none to tend them
watched by skulls and lizards
death knells the bell
Desert
