'Depression Is Anger Without Enthusiasm'

Rating: 5.0

I read this quote
“Depression is anger without enthusiasm.”
I don’t believe that for a second,
I think depression is loneliness,
Feeling so lonely inside
Even if the world surrounds you
And knowing you cant blame anyone but yourself
But that’s just me.
And even worse
When the people you’d think know you best,
Don’t even notice.
Depression to me is
An overwhelming feeling
of defeat
Feeling that somehow,
In a game, you verses life
You lose
And there is no
Double or nothing
Or a such thing as re-do’s
Some of us accept it
And try other strategies
Others are left
Only to dwell
On what tactics they could have changed.

Wow! What a poignant poem, and yes, we all feel it sometime. You did bring out the verbal diarrhea in some people I see. Try mine – Saturday Morning Mood—and then you may laugh. Adeline

The verse is a limp hand shake at best. Attempting to welcome with someone's insight then complaining. Depression is often disgust with one's own putrid self-serving existence. If there's no elation, it will turn inward; otherwise, it turns on everyone who must have caused such an existence. There is limited pity for the depressed; however, people pay a premium to feel pleased with life for no reason. From someone who's 'been there and done that', take a step away from the meta-physical and reevaluate. Most will see a lifetime jaded from things the cannot control, but never understand there was no reason to control them to begin with. There was little more than a desire to.

'i am 30plus years old..i only heard the word depression when i migrate in europe..i believe depression is a habit..you want to make a habit of putting yourself down thats why you get depressed..and being depressed is making you feel happy..its like a worry habit thing..a hurting yourself feeling that makes you feel good....i think depression will only hit you if you are a born lazy person....cause if you keep yourself busy you can never think of anything else to be sad about...do what you feel doing and your focus will be on that thing your doing..so you will never get depressed..the word depressed is created by human beings who work as a doctor giving advice to people giving them medicine..if they will not do that they will not survie..in short..they will make you believe you are depressed even if your not so they can sell theier medicine.' ^^^^ thats a crock of... you cant stop depression. it just happens. there is somthing in your head or somthing that has happened in life that you just cant shake. ppl dont get depressed because they are lazy or they want attention. who ever said that most likly has not gone through what ppl with depression go through everyday. and most the time drugs dont help. yeah, they make you 'happy' but you still dont feel like everything is great. thats dumb how ppl can be so nieve about that. you have to have gone through it to be able to say anything about it. yeah. anyways great poem keep it up.. (sorry for the rant)

Depression is definitely a disease. It is a disease of the mind where if it is chemically imbalanced there will be need for medication and perhaps therapy. Depression is a hard thing, it is not an easy thing and for those of us who have to live with it, it can really be a war or as you say- You versus Life. Depression is an illness and many people suffer from it; I happen to also be one of those unfortunate peoples. Depression, is hard to be understood by people who don't understand it stages-largely as you say even the people you love and supposedly love you, don't understand what you are going through unless they really try to. Hang in there, is all I can say. I have become down and sometimes tired of the medication, counseling and all-because somehow I still have my days and weeks. It is as with any other illness; we someone try to live with it. Take care, hugs.
