Deposing Dad From His Cross Poem by Ted Sheridan

Deposing Dad From His Cross

Rating: 5.0

Dearest Daddy….the message said
I’ll be over to get my things on Saturday
We’ve found a house and we are moving in
So open the door when we knock
Dearest Daddy….the message continued
I can’t believe you are holding his computer hostage
You have already had his car impounded
What else is it you want from us? Blood
Dearest Daddy….the message ended
See your asses in court!

I told my wife, for a brief moment I actually thought our daughter cared
But I knew if I refused to give in on my principles
Hers would collapse into hostility and threats
I now realize all too well that you can’t make them do anything
But you can make them wish they had…

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Ted, hat off to you for the piece and for the attitude. You're holding out for the longer term even though it hurts in the shorter. Your title is heartbreaking. love t x

tough love...Even the Father had to turn His back on His Son...at the time of His death, when He needed His Father the most...
